We’ve been absolutely flying along with our Code 3 by big cumulonimbus. These big squalls come, and the wind goes from 25 to 40 knots in seconds. This kind of sailing is typical here in the North Pacific. When the cold front passes lots of these cumulonimbi detach from the main low-pressure system and it creates a playground of turbo winds which makes this cold sector super challenging and fun, although very, very exhausting and risky. So far so good, we are managing this the best we can.

We are already less than 1,000 miles from Seattle, and it feels closer with every surf we do. We started the Ocean Sprint today and looking forward to sending it, having in mind that being prudent is sometimes the way to go. Some of the crew are feeling sad that their adventure is ending in Seattle, but we are trying to convince them to stay for Leg 7 as there is space onboard.

Today was a glorious day flying our Code 2 and surfs of 16+ knots on a due east course.

Vamos Punta!!!
