Another short one as once again it’s getting a bit hairy out there! Great day today on board Zhuhai with us starting the day doing well in a hotly contended race to the Scoring Gate. Expecting more breeze, we got our newly repaired, and thus rather vulnerable, Code 2 down and hoisted the 3 for the big run back inshore. Typically, the wind left us wishing we still had the 2 up for the next 6hrs, and we saw our competitors slowly but surely reign us in. Then like a switch it came, and Mike had a fantastic run with it with prolonged 20 knot surfs throughout. Sunset and time to get it down, but not before an almighty broach which had everyone going for a bit with the memory of the Code 2 exploding in much tamer circumstances on the last leg still very much in the mind.

Thankfully, the Code 3 came down in one piece after a savage wrestle, and now we are surfing along under a starry sky. In the wider race we've lost quite a few places but are hoping to make these up (eventually)

All the best from the crew, Mike and myself
