Zhuhai's private race with GoToBermuda continues unabated, with the two boats seldom more than five miles apart. It is certainly keeping the Zhuhai team motivated and excited.

As we started to get closer to the Moroccan coast the wind began to increase quite quickly, so we opted to change down to a smaller, heavier, spinnaker for the night. As the increase in wind coincided with where we wanted to gybe we managed to complete two tasks simultaneously, gybing and doing the sail change.

Overnight, we got some reasonable speeds, surfing up to 16 knots and averaging over 10 knots all night long.

We are fast approaching the Canary Islands and will have to gybe again this morning to avoid them.

During the night we were often accompanied by dolphins cavorting in the bright moonlight.

Sophie Cross and Trevor Thurlow, our Media Team, are doing a great job of ensuring that we document and record life aboard Zhuhai, and they have set up a rota for team members to send in blogs.

Not so many ships in the past 24 hours when compared with the previous day, though we did see a couple of fishing boats.

Cheers
