Write an inspiring message on the Unicef “Spinnaker of Support”

16 August 2017

YOU can be part of the Clipper 2017-18 Race from dry land by writing a message of support for any crew member on the Unicef Spinnaker, which will be flown many times during the Clipper Race fleet’s 40,000 nautical mile circumnavigation.

Unicef UK, the official Charity Partner of the Clipper 2017-18 Race will have a tent in the Clipper Race Village between Thursday 17 August and Race Start Sunday 20 August where it will be hosting the “Spinnaker of Support” as well as highlighting the important work that the charity does “For Every Child in Danger”.

In return for a suggested minimum donation of £5, which will go to worthwhile Unicef projects around the world, you will be able to write a motivational message of your choice for a Clipper Race crew member or team, which will permanently stay on the Spinnaker for the duration of the eleven-month voyage.

The Unicef UK tent will be open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday (between 1000 and 1700) but you can still get involved even if you are not in Liverpool. All you need to do is visit the dedicated “Spinnaker of Support” JustGiving page to provide a donation and write the message that you would like to appear on the Spinnaker. A photo of all the collected messages will then appear on the Clipper Race Facebook page.

Any donation that you can provide will go a long way to helping the Clipper Race crew and supporters reach the £400,000 fundraising target that has been set for this year’s edition of the race. Over a quarter of this target has already been raised before the Clipper Race fleet has even left Liverpool and the current total can be found here. You can help to raise £150,000 to protect children in danger before Race Start!
