PSP Logistics return as team sponsor

06 August 2015

Hampshire based worldwide logistics company PSP are back on board the Clipper Race as a Team Sponsor for a second time and their entry will be led by local Race Skipper Max Stunell.

Following the success of the partnership in the last edition of the race, the global specialist in boat transportation and race logistics will once again have a yacht named PSP Logistics on the 40,000 mile circumnavigation.

PSP Logistics Skipper Max Stunell from Portsmouth, UK, grew up learning to sail on the Solent where PSP is also based. Max, 34, had been working as a Clipper Race training skipper for a few years before applying for the Race Skipper position.

Max said: “I am very pleased to be associated with the PSP brand and proud that we will be promoting a Hampshire company globally during this eleven month race around the world.

“My crew are now in the final stages of training and making preparations for the race and we are very excited about the journey that lies ahead.”

PSP is trusted by some of the biggest brands in the marine industry such as Sunseeker and Fairline to transport their yachts and motorboats around the world. Its expertise stretches much wider than the marine sector, and the company provides project logistics across all markets, from oil and gas to architecture and from exhibitions to wind turbines.

Frank Dixie, Founder and Managing Director of PSP, says: “Being a Team Sponsor in the Clipper 2013-14 Race proved to be an amazing opportunity to continue to build our profile on a global platform while supporting something very important to us, so we’re really pleased to be returning as a Team Sponsor for the tenth edition race.

“Similar to our golden rules for transporting boats, I’d urge the team to be fast, efficient and most of all, safe. At PSP we make life-long connections with the people we meet across the world and we’re sure the team will do just that as they encounter new people, cultures and places.”

PSP is also the Official Logistics Partner of the race for the fourth time. Frank added: It’s the willingness to grab a challenge with both hands that aligns us with the Clipper Race and makes us the perfect partner for its logistics.”

Clipper Race Founder and Chairman, Sir Robin Knox-Johnston welcomed PSP’s return: “We are very happy to have PSP back as a Team Sponsor and Official Supplier for the tenth edition of the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race.

“PSP plays an integral role in operating the Clipper Race. As Official Logistics Partner its role is to transport all of vital maintenance equipment that is essential for the fleet over the 40,000 mile-long race. It is also great PSP recognises that being a Team Sponsor provides a unique platform to introduce its business to new and existing markets globally.”
