Awards season is upon us and once more the Clipper Race website has gained international recognition within the industry.

Following on from winning the Best Sports Website in the 2015 Lovie Awards, the site has received further nominations for online excellence.

Going up against the official websites of Manchester United, Formula 1, British Cycling and Wimbledon, the race website has been named as a finalist in the MetrixLab Website of the Year Awards in the sport category.

The MetrixLab Awards is a two-part award and includes a public voting element, which will be open from 3 October until 11 November. Click here for further information and to find out how you can vote for the Clipper Race website.

“Our aim is always to provide Clipper Race followers with a website that is engaging and offers a platform for them to easily keep up to date with the race,” explains Paul Hankey, Digital Media Manager.

“We’ve been working with Salad, our website agency, since 2014 and it’s great to see the relationship and work has been recognised with not just an award win but also another four nominations.”

As well as the MetrixLab Award the site has also been nominated for Best Travel/Leisure/Sports website in the Drum Dadi Awards, with the winners announced on 19 October.

The 2015-16 edition of the race saw the first in-house development of the popular Race Viewer, which received 3.5million page views across the duration of the race.

The Race Viewer has been nominated for Best Digital Innovation in the WireHire 100 Awards.
