During Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer’s visit to China last week, it was announced that there will be visa-free travel for UK citizens visiting China for under 30 days.
When the new rule comes into effect, the British Government says that those visiting China on business or as tourists will be able to travel without a visa, and that this brings the UK into line with 50 other countries such as France, Germany and Australia.
There is currently no date for when the visa agreement will be in force, but the Government is hoping this will happen soon. This will be very good news for UK crew participating in legs of the Clipper 2027-28 Race which will be visiting China. Along with British based Race Partners who plan to collaborate with the Clipper Race at future stopovers in China.
