London Business School First Mate Zoe Longley continues to make great progress in the recovery from her ankle injury; however, she will be unable to rejoin the team for Leg 4. Craig Forsyth will be stepping in to support Skipper Gavin Rees and the LBS team, from Fremantle to Airlie Beach and onwards to Subic Bay, Philippines.

Whilst it is not uncommon for Race Crew to return to the Clipper Race for more than one edition, Craig Forsyth was the first and only participant – so far - to do so four times in a row. He first signed up for a full circumnavigation on the 2013-14 edition, then went on to complete two further North Pacific crossings (2015-16 and 2017-18). Still wanting more, he competed on Leg 4 racing around the coast of Australia, from Fremantle to the Whitsundays, in the Clipper 2019-20 Race.

With a clear passion for sailing, and over 60,000nm in his logbook, when not competing in global yacht races or other crazy adventures, Craig gained his Yachtmaster Offshore and became an instructor.

Returning to Clipper Race HQ in September this year, Craig has been First Mate on Level 1 and Level 4 training weeks.

On taking the role, Craig said: “I was booked to lead more Clipper Race Training courses in the New Year, but this opportunity presented itself and it’s a dream come true. I said yes within about 2 hours – why wouldn’t I?”

We thank Maisie for joining the London Business School team for Leg 3 and look forward to seeing Craig when he arrives in Fremantle on 10 December.
