UPDATE AT 0600 UTC

After an offshore rendezvous, Richard was airlifted from the UNICEF yacht and helicoptered to medical assistance. UNICEF has returned to racing.

Team UNICEF Race Crew member Richard Warren has sustained an injury on board and needs medical attention. Richard’s primary contact has been informed.

Skipper Guy Waites has been in constant contact with the Race Management Team and MSOS – our telemed provider - and we have been working to MSOS’ recommendations.

The Race Management Team and the yacht have also been liaising with the relevant authorities including MRCC Kobe to coordinate a plan of action for Richard and the yacht.
