OneDLL has claimed its first podium finish of the Clipper 13-14 Race much to the delight of the yacht’s skipper and crew as the team finish third in the race from Cape Town to Albany, Western Australia.

"It was a tough and emotional leg. We aim to sail fast but safe," revealed OneDLL skipper Olly Cotterell.

"It was very hard giving up the lead after losing our medium weight spinnaker. However, we've achieved a podium and very happy with that overall. The crew have performed very well despite the challenging conditions. I'm very proud of them."

Chinese entry Qingdao secured fourth place in the early hours of Tuesday morning local time, finishing Race 4 at 2137 UTC. The fifth arrival is not expected until the early hours of Wednesday morning, local time.

"We thought we could lead all the way but ran into high pressure and lost the wind," explained Gareth Glover, skipper of Qingdao

"All we could do is watch teams further south pass us. But we worked very hard and pleased with our position overall."

It will be another tight finish with Invest Africa, PSP Logistics and Switzerland all currently vying for fifth place. With PSP Logistics currently in Stealth Mode they will hope to take tactical advantage.
