Looking for the ultimate New Year’s resolution?

01 January 2015

New Year’s Day is the chance to start anew and do something lifechanging for 2015. What better than the ultimate challenge of racing the world’s oceans?

This year, we are looking for the next generation of ocean racers to sail our fleet of twelve 70-foot yachts and achieve something remarkable.

On Sunday 11 January experience what life is like on board and visit our open boat in Central London’s only marina, St Katharine Docks. From 10:00 to 16:00 you can speak to former race crew and race staff who can answer any questions you have about this unique adventure of a lifetime.

You can find out all the current details of our crew recruitment talks here, including Bristol, Manchester and an upcoming tour of Ireland that will be announced later this month.

This is a truly international race and if the Northern Hemisphere is not within easy reach, why not visit us at our Australian centre in Sydney?

Australian MD Kirsty Whyte is hosting a series of recruitment talks across the country and in New Zealand in January, February and March.

Kirsty will be visiting Newcastle, Canberra, Cairns, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, Auckland and Wellington. If you would like the talk to be held at your yacht club, business or company, please contact Kirsty here.

In the 2013-14 edition, 670 crew - including 34% women - from over 40 nationalities, took part in the race. The crew represented more than 230 different professions, from surfing instructors to horse therapists and many more.

The race is open to anyone over the age of 18 at the time it starts, but there is no upper age limit. The oldest crew member so far was 74!

The 2015-16 race is now 80 per cent full, with some legs totally filled and recruiting has also commenced for the 2017-18 race.

You can sign up for one or more legs or the full round the world race which takes 11 months to complete.

If you would like more information about the race or how to attend our recruitment talks to meet the team and speak to former race crew, please contact Della Parsons, [email protected] call: +44 (0) 2392 534 712.
