Update @ 1900 BST:

Good news for Linda. She has been discharged from the hospital with a sprained shoulder. The Dr has cleared her to return for the final parade and the Race Director has agreed. Linda will re-join the yacht tomorrow morning on the River Thames where she will complete the journey with her team.

Original Statement:

ClipperTelemed+ crew member Linda McDavitt, 69, a retired band teacher from Austin Texas fell below decks this afternoon and injured her shoulder which was thought dislocated and potentially broken.

The yacht was approximately ten miles east of Felixtowe off the Norfolk coast approaching the Thames estuary.

Linda was airlifted off the yacht and transferred to hospital for medical assessment and treatment.
