Are you eager to test their limits beyond belief and find out how they can take part in the next race? Come and hear about it from someone who has been there, stared Mother Nature in the eye and taken all she can muster.

You will find out more about the selection process, training, the race, the fleet, stopovers, personal logistics and most importantly the race crew. You'll either walk away inspired or scared. One thing you won't be is bored.

RACE DEPARTURE CEREMONY

On Sunday 17 November the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race fleet will continue its epic circumnavigation.

Take your position and cheer the teams as the fleet slip lines to set off on the 4,800NM Southern Ocean Leg, the third stage of their 40,000 nautical mile endurance race around the world.

The fleet will be berthed at the V&A Waterfront, close to the historic streets of the city centre.

The fleet will be berthed at the V&A Waterfront, close to the historic streets of the city centre.

Drive the coastal roads down to Cape Point, climb or hike at Table Mountain or Lion's Head and explore Company's Gardens and the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens in the centre.

Whale watching trips run along the False Bay coastline from August to November and you can do shark cage diving all year round from Seal Island or Gansbaai.

Cape Town is a cultural hub that has gained a reputation as having a buzzing design scene and cosmopolitan atmosphere in recent years. The galleries, cafes and design stores around Long Street and the surrounding area range from stylish, quirky to cool.

Ethnic cuisine and seafood are amongst the culinary specialities. Locals will tell you how to make a potjie (a stew), what constitutes a braai (barbecue) or what Cape Malay riches await you in the cobblestone streets of the brightly-coloured Bo-Kaap district.
