Sailed the World? Now own the yacht! Clipper 68s for Sale
11 December 2014
The Clipper 68 Ed Dubois designed yacht was the backbone of the Clipper Race fleet for four races from 2005-2012 until we introduced the new Clipper 70 in 2013 and the 68s were used primarily for training and corporate events.
A number of these classic ocean racing yachts are now being sold to make way for the new generation of Clipper 70s. This means that crew who sailed the 68 in the Clipper Race could own one of the very yachts that took them around the world!
For individuals or organisations looking for a versatile ocean racing, training or even cruising yacht, with a great pedigree, the release of the Clipper 68s onto the open market is a unique opportunity to own and operate a superb sailing machine.
Sir Robin Knox-Johnston who briefed Ed Dubois on the design said: “I wanted a yacht that could be sailed safely by amateur crews but could also be a good ocean racing boat…and it proved extremely successful as far as we were concerned. So anyone looking for a good strong rugged boat that’s reliable and easy to sail, that can take anything you throw at it, and the Southern Ocean takes some beating, these are the boats!”
Berthon International has been appointed as the sales agent for the 68ft yachts which have berths for up to 20 crew and come equipped with a comprehensive sail wardrobe by Hyde Sails.
The yachts are available for immediate delivery, ready for the 2015 season, with a sale price from £245,000
To see the Clipper 68 in action a short video has been compiled to provide an introduction to the yacht for prospective buyers and can be viewed here
