Mission Performance Ltd is a UK-based Learning & Development consultancy with a global client base that specialises in delivering high impact training programmes that take lessons from adventures in challenging environments – and what’s more challenging than Mother nature?
Mission Performance injects the exhilaration and passion of operating in extreme environments into a successful business that enable people and teams to challenge themselves beyond the ordinary - in whatever business they are part of.
The sponsored yacht is perfect vehicle for the Mission Performance Team to study leadership, coaching and operational team working. The dynamic of professional skippers forming crews from “ordinary”, non-experienced amateurs, makes this race unique and all the more relevant and inspirational.
Mission Performance training consultants include polar explorers and pilots, ocean rowers and ocean racing skippers, decorated military officers, international mountain guides and Everest mountaineers, actors and theatre directors as well as elite sportsmen and women.
Mission Performance’s relationship with offshore sailing started when it began working with some of the BT Global Challenge skippers and crews for the 2000 and 2004 races. Since then, it have widened the scope of experiences and has taken part in and won two races to the Magnetic North Pole and subsequently trained others to ‘survive to race’ in the high Arctic.
It wants to enable and support our skipper to engage, empower and inspire his crew to achieve the extraordinary and aim for a podium finish.
Matt Mitchell is the youngest skipper in the race which in itself is an incredible achievement and demonstrates very impressive personal qualities such as determination, courage, self-belief, ambition. Matt says he is looking forward to the worst of the weather which bodes well.
The Clipper Race is one of the most well known, established sailing organisations on the planet and I feel proud to have been given a chance to represent them in this role.
