The participation in the Clipper 2013-14 Round the World Yacht Race is a metaphor for the continuing evolution of international leasing & financing company De Lage Landen (DLL). The boat, “One DLL,” stands for one team united behind a common mission: to enable businesses to use the assets they need to make a meaningful contribution to the world.
Since 2005 De Lage Landen saw its employee base double to almost 5600, serving its global customers with complete finance solutions throughout the whole leasing life cycle. And supporting global customers means working together as a global company, De Lage Landen believes. That’s why the organization started a journey to become One, connecting all members throughout the world, operating as a real networked organization. The Clipper Race was found to be the perfect metaphor for its Journey by latterly sailing with members from one country to the other while working together on the same goal, in sometimes challenging conditions.
The current edition of the Clipper Round the World Race marks the 2nd time De Lage Landen participates in the world’s longest ocean race. This time, it has more than doubled the number of DLL members as part of the crew to 17. Sailing in pairs with three members on the last leg to the UK again in summer 2014.
